Online recruitment network upgrades features
ONLINE recruitment network JobsDB.com launched yesterday its upgraded Recruitment Management System (RMS) that contains “technically advanced” features like maps that will allow employers to perform multiple tasks and job-seekers to find their “ideal” workplaces.
Jayjay Viray, JobsDB.com managing director, told reporters in a press briefing yesterday they have noted a significant number of “preferential mismatches” for the last six months, prompting the need to upgrade the popular job search Web site.
“The gap starts on the first step of sourcing of candidates [for jobs],” she said.
“We believe in making both the candidate and job search experience easier and more convenient, while yielding very productive results,” she added.
New features of the JobsDB Web site include the instant display of up to 100 resumés as well as attachments, without downloading.\ Users will also be able to import resumés, and view applicant databases in “customizable” folders and display formats, Ms. Viray said.
In the last six months, jobs in sales, information technology, customer service, engineering, accounting and finance, and administration and human resources were the most in demand, Ms. Viray said.
“Employers nowadays are looking for applicants who would have a sense of ownership in their job and someone who would accept even low compensation,” she said.
“They are also looking for candidates who know [skills] beyond the computer basics,” Ms. Viray said.
Meanwhile, job-seekers tend to look for a job that is geographically convenient for them, she said.
“Job-seekers especially mothers look for a job that is near their houses while young job-seekers tend to look for jobs located in Ortigas and Makati, for bragging rights,” she said.
The upgraded JobsDB Web site also features maps to allow job-seekers to check the most convenient job openings for them in terms of location, Ms. Viray said.
The online recruitment network was founded in 1998 by JDB Holdings Ltd.
It has database services in countries such as Australia, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and the Philippines.
The firm boasts of a database of 14.6 million job-seekers and over 220,000 corporate clients. -- AMPD
