Luneta Job Fair Special Report

JobsDB Participates in the Independence Day Job Fair

After two successful job fairs, the Career and Education Fair 2006 at the World Trade Center and the Microsoft Career Day in Cebu (both happened in the month of May), JobsDB.com continues to provide the best employment options to the Filipinos. In response to the ongoing challenge in the employment scenario of the country, JobsDB encouraged more jobseekers to utilize the Internet resources for their job-hunting needs during the 2006 Independence Day Job Fair held last June 12 at the Luneta Park, Manila.

With over a hundred participating companies, the 2006 Independence Day Job Fair, which was organized by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), catered not only to the hundreds of job seeking professionals but also to the informal sector workers who are beneficiaries of the DOLE's Poverty Free Zones (PFZ) program through its livelihood component which allowed these beneficiaries to showcase and promote their products to the public.

JobsDB also provided the online post-registration after the event. Jobseekers who failed to attend the job fair were given a chance to apply to the participating companies by logging on to the website and applying online to their preferred company.

The event served as an avenue for JobsDB to promote online job searching; another option was to bring or fill in hard-copy resumes. In this event, JobsDB once again affirms its willingness to partner with government in their job generation program to be able to reach out to thousands of people who are still on the look for the best opportunities.
