THE FILIPINO HUMAN RESOURCE:
RESPONDING TO GLOBAL ECONOMIC CHALLENGES

COMPONENTS OF THIS FOUR-DAY GATHERING:

I. THE FIRST INTERNAL LABOR OPPORTUNITIES FORUM

A one-day activity which consists of plenary sessions where participants will be oriented on llabor opportunities in new and existing labor markets. International and local speakers will be iinvited to speak on specific labor interests.

II. THE FIRST INTERNATIONAL LABOR MART

A three-day activity that will consist of job fair and exhibits. This will bring together employers and licensed placement and manning agencies to discuss their manpower needs and requirements. The exhibit will include displays on the services of the various government agencies, recruitment and manning agencies, financial and banking institutions, telecommunication companies, airlines, travel agencies, hotels and restaurants, media, non-government organizations, and other major stakeholders of the overseas employment program. A major highlight of the event is a showcase of skills of the Filipino specialists.

III. THE SECOND INTERNATIONAL EMPLOYERS AWARD

A gathering of outstanding foreign employers of Filipinos from various countries around the globe. The DOLE will recognize deserving international companies and individuals who have been major providers of employment to Filipinos for the past years. The event will be highlighted by the Presidential Awards to be held at the Malacanang Palace.
