HANEPBUHAY: A Resounding Success

The first Tipid Sulit Pinas HANEPBUHAY Job Fair was held at the World Trade Center East pavilion from September 24 to 25, 2009. The event is a collaboration between Talk ‘N Test, JobDB and TESDA, the government agency tasked with skills development and job-generation for the common Filipino.

HANEPBUHAY is a unique job fair as it incorporates a fun and festive atmosphere to the normally sedate job application process. After job-hunting, Talk ‘N Text subscribers are given a chance to play and win in the four games in the Talk ‘N Text Fun Fair. This creates excitement for the brand and adds value to being a Talk ‘N Text subscriber.

Participated in by 68 exhibitor companies seeking employees or developing a pool of potential hires, HANEPBUHAY managed to draw 2,600 job seekers mostly form the Manila and Pasay areas.

All job seekers were given Talk ‘N Text – JobsDB Career Card which contains an electronic copy of their resume. Upon claiming their Career Cards, they proceed to the various companies to search for the appropriate job openings. Should they wish to apply, all they have to do is to present their Career Card. The potential employer then scans the unique barcode located at the back of the card and uploads the soft copy of the resume to their database. Applications are thus fast and hassle-free.

The first leg of HANEPBUHAY was also supported by KABAKA, a community-based group of Manileños founded by former mayor Amado Bagatsing. KABAKA members were given priority as their application forms were pre-encoded so they would not have to go through the regular process.

HANEPBUHAY is a perfect fit for the Tipid Sulit Pinas campaign as it directly addresses a need of the common Filipino, i.e. finding employment. It also reinforces the “Gumagaan ang life” slogan of the Talk ‘N Text brand.

Over-all, the event was a resounding success in terms of attendance, branding and staging.

The next three legs of HANEPBUHAY will be in Lucena, Laoag and Iloilo.

We hope to see you there!
